"The verve safety straps are a must have for your power rack if you use the solid safety pins they can damage the knurled texture on your barbells.. furthermore if you drop the weight on solid pins there is more bounce which can increase the risk of injury if the bar flys off the pin and lands on you. Because the straps have a bit of give in them there is more shock absorption which minimises bounce while also making them far more comfortable to squat with … if you squat with solid pin safety's if you accidentally clip the pins on the way down the impact can be jarring which can throw off your lift put you off balance where as the Verve safety straps are extremely strong while providing a softer landing - If you want to maintain the grip and life on your barbells … if you want to minimise risk of injury skip the safety pins and go for the verve safety straps"
