Best Infrared Saunas Australia (2026)
Best Infrared Saunas Australia (2026)
TL;DR
The Mysa Mirage series is the only infrared sauna range we sell, and there is a reason we chose it. Full-spectrum infrared (near, mid, and far), premium Canadian hemlock timber, dark tinted glass, whisper-quiet operation with no fans or buzzing, WiFi app control, and low EMF output. Four sizes from 1-person to 4-person. The 1 and 2-person models plug into a standard 10A household outlet. The 3 and 4-person models require a 15A dedicated circuit installed by a licensed electrician.

What Is Full-Spectrum Infrared?
Not all infrared saunas are the same. There are three infrared wavelengths, and each does something different:
Near Infrared (NIR)
Shortest wavelength, penetrates deepest into tissue (up to 5cm). Promotes cellular repair, collagen production, and wound healing. This is the wavelength used in clinical photobiomodulation therapy.
Mid Infrared (MIR)
Medium penetration. Targets joints, muscles, and soft tissue. Effective for pain relief, improved circulation, and reducing inflammation.
Far Infrared (FIR)
Longest wavelength, absorbed primarily by the skin's surface layer. Produces the deepest sweat response. This is the wavelength most "infrared saunas" use exclusively — it generates heat effectively but misses the deeper tissue benefits of near and mid infrared.
Full-spectrum means all three. The Mysa Mirage uses full-spectrum heaters that emit near, mid, and far infrared simultaneously, giving you the complete range of benefits in a single session. Many cheaper saunas only use far infrared — they will make you sweat, but you miss the deeper cellular and muscular benefits.
Why the Mysa Mirage?
We evaluated dozens of infrared sauna brands before settling on Mysa. Here is what set the Mirage apart:
Canadian Hemlock Timber
The cabin is built from premium Canadian hemlock — a softwood prized for sauna construction because it resists warping, does not produce excessive resin at high temperatures, and has natural hypoallergenic properties. It also looks and smells outstanding.
Dark Tinted Glass
8mm tempered glass with a dark tint. This is both an aesthetic and functional choice — the tint reduces external light intrusion, creating a more immersive sauna experience, while the 8mm thickness provides excellent heat retention and structural strength.
SilentHeat — Whisper-Quiet Operation
This was a dealbreaker for us. Most infrared saunas have audible fans, buzzing from electronics, or clicking from thermostats cycling. The Mysa Mirage uses SilentHeat technology — no fans, no buzzing, no mechanical noise. The only thing you hear is your own breathing and whatever you are playing through the built-in JVC Bluetooth speakers.
FastHeat
Reaches 40 degrees Celsius in 10 minutes, and up to 70 degrees in 20-40 minutes. You do not need to pre-heat for an hour like traditional saunas. Decide you want a session, turn it on, and you are ready in 10 minutes.
WiFi App Control
The SmartLife app (iOS and Android) lets you preheat remotely, set schedules, and enable smart shutoff. Start your sauna from the couch, the car, or your office — walk in when it is ready.
Low EMF
EMF output measures 5-25 milligauss at the heater surface — up to 10 times lower than a standard hairdryer. If EMF is a concern for you, the Mirage is among the lowest-emission infrared saunas on the market.
Chromotherapy Lighting
Starlight LED ceiling with 7 colour modes for chromotherapy. Purely optional — some people swear by it for mood and relaxation, others just pick a colour they like. Either way, it looks impressive.

Installation
All Mysa Mirage models are designed for two-person DIY assembly in approximately 2 hours. The cabin panels slot together — no special tools required. The main considerations:
- Floor — place on a flat, level surface. Tile, concrete, or hardwood all work. Avoid carpet directly (use a waterproof mat underneath if no alternative).
- Ventilation — infrared saunas do not produce steam, but adequate room ventilation is still recommended for comfort.
- Power — 1 and 2-person models: standard 10A outlet. 3 and 4-person models: 15A dedicated circuit with licensed electrician.
- Clearance — leave at least 50mm on all sides for airflow and maintenance access.
Infrared Sauna Warranty
All Mysa Mirage saunas carry the following warranty for both home and commercial use:
- Cabin: 2 years
- Parts: 2 years

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a 15A power point for every Mysa Mirage sauna?
No. The 1-person and 2-person models use a standard 10A household plug. Only the 3-person and 4-person models require a 15A dedicated circuit, which must be installed by a licensed electrician.
How long does it take to heat up?
The Mysa Mirage reaches 40 degrees Celsius in approximately 10 minutes thanks to FastHeat technology. Full operating temperature of up to 70 degrees takes 20-40 minutes depending on the model size and ambient room temperature.
Is infrared sauna safe?
Yes, for most people. Infrared saunas operate at lower temperatures (40-70 degrees) than traditional Finnish saunas (80-100+ degrees), making them more tolerable and safer for extended sessions. The Mysa Mirage's low EMF output (5-25 milligauss at the heater surface) is significantly below levels associated with any health concerns. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, have cardiovascular conditions, or are on medications that affect heat tolerance.
What is the difference between infrared and traditional saunas?
Traditional saunas heat the air around you (convection). Infrared saunas heat your body directly through infrared radiation — the same type of heat you feel from sunlight, minus the UV. Infrared saunas operate at lower air temperatures but produce comparable or greater sweat response because the heat penetrates tissue directly rather than relying on hot air.
Can I put a sauna in my garage?
Yes, provided you have adequate power supply (10A for 1-2 person, 15A for 3-4 person), a level floor, and reasonable ambient temperature. Extremely cold garages in winter will take longer to reach operating temperature. Ensure the space is dry — avoid placement near areas with water pooling or high humidity.
